Liberty Center III – located at 600 N. Washington Street – houses 100 women.

 

RENT: Liberty Center III is a HUD subsidized, Single Room Occupancy (SRO) property for homeless women only, transitioning to permanent housing. We accept only single women, no children. Monthly rent and deposit is based on the applicant’s income. HUD establishes rent and deposit amounts. We do accept women with no income at all.

 

ROOMS: At Liberty Center III, we offer only single rooms with a twin bed and storage underneath. The rooms are approximately 10’ x 11’ and offer a desk, a chair, a wall mirror, a place to hang clothes and 3 large bins for storing food and personal items. The bathrooms are shared by 2 women. Residents may cook using a microwave, may have a dorm-sized refrigerator, a TV, music with headphones, a computer and a bedside table.

 

LOCATION: This property is conveniently located in downtown Jacksonville north of State Street across from the fire department. Winn Dixie grocery store, Florida State Community College, the Jacksonville Public Library, the Jacksonville Court House and EverBank Field are nearby. Transportation is also easily accessible due to our close proximity to the Rosa Parks Main JTA terminal and the Skyway.

 

AMENITIES: Our property offers large common areas perfect for meetings and celebrations. We have a beautiful courtyard with grills for those who enjoy outside cooking complete with tables and umbrellas. Our newly redecrated lobby is perfect for Bible studies, bingo & movie nights, and other fun events for our residents to participate in if they wish. For a private moment outside of your room there is a smoke-free upper deck for reading and private reflection. We offer a clean laundry facility and residents have access to our free clothing shop downtown.

 

SECURITY: Although Liberty Center is NOT emergency housing we are a secure facility with 24 hour front desk monitors and surveillance cameras on every hallway inside. We are a gated community with cameras in the courtyard, deck area and on the street. 

 

RESTRICTIONS: We do not allow alcohol or illegal drugs. There is NO SMOKING inside the buildings – anywhere! Residents are required to keep personal possessions to a minimum for safety, sanitary, pest-free and clutter-free living. Guests are allowed each day from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the lobby, courtyard and back deck areas.
